- Make ready 2 tbsp cornflour
- Take 1/2 cup water
- Get 1/4 tsp garlic seasoning
- Get 1 pinch salt
- Prepare 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- Make ready as needed mint leaves to garnish
- Make ready as needed Red chilli flakes and dried herbs to garnish
- Prepare as needed Green chillies to garnish
Instructions to make Khichdi nuggets:
- Wash and soak rice and lentils for 15 minutes
- Heat 2 tbsp oil,saute the chopped onion,ginger and green chillies together
- Add the carrot and green peas and saute for a minute
- Add the chopped tomatoes and seasonings. Cover and cook for 5 minutes. Drizzle some chilli flakes.
- Now add the soaked rice and lentils. Add turmeric.
- Add water. Let it come to a rolling boil.Now cover and cook for 30 minutes on low flame or pressure cook for 3 whistles.
- Open and let it cool completely.
- Mash the boiled potatoes with fork
- Now add to the lentil khichdi. Add all the seasonings. Mix well.
- Give shape of nuggets. Keep oil to heat. Can shallow fry or deep fry.
- Make the cornflour slurry by mixing water and cornflour. Add the seasoning and salt.
- Spread bread crumbs on a plate.
- Dip each nugget in the slurry
- Then roll in bread crumbs
- Prepare all in such way.
- Now shallow fry in small batches
- Turn the side once browned evenly
- Remove on a kitchen towel
- Prepare all in such way.
- Enjoy tasty,crunchy healthy khichdi nuggets crispy on the outside and soft inside.
